4 Work insights

Here’s four working examples what working with a good freelance designer can do.

PRODUCTIVE

Activity Program for Queensland Schools

Throughout my career working with agencies and design studios, I have collaborated on numerous government bids and tenders. I bring the added advantage of strong illustrative expertise and visual storytelling, translating complex information into clear, engaging infographics and graphic assets. My approach is grounded in proven behavioural design principles, ensuring information is not only visually engaging but easily understood and actionable. Working as lead designer on the ‘Get Active’ Program for Qld Govt, working with JSA (2005).

COOPERATIVE

Healthy Lifestyle Program for young adults

The UnitingCare project is a strong example of collaborative design in practice. Working closely with the in-house Graphic Designer and marketing team, we delivered large-scale communications for community programs, like the ‘Cooking with Courage and Culture’ Program (2023).

This eight-section publication was researched and written internally, then designed as a cohesive lifestyle guide to support young people in developing practical life skills, demonstrating the power of teamwork across strategy, content, and design.

INVENTIVE

Not-for-Profit Fundraising Event

Long-term client EPIC Assist sought an emotive campaign for their Annual Art Exhibition fundraiser, celebrating artists within their Disability Services program. The campaign theme, ‘A World of Difference’, brought together submissions from the previous year into a single large-scale hero image. Individual artworks were unified into one powerful collective piece, visually reinforcing inclusion, diversity, and shared creativity while delivering strong emotional resonance for fundraising and community engagement.

ORGANISED

Brand Audit + Alignment

Strong organisation underpins effective client and project management, particularly for complex, multi-asset briefs. This was critical when managing a brand alignment for Oak Tree Retirement Villages (2024). By tracking progress across all deliverables, I provided the client with a clear visual overview of project status and brand consistency, ensuring a cohesive, polished outcome across every touchpoint.
