Spring has sprung and it’s one exciting week in the studio this week with many new illustration projects on the hop, including one from the Fox Collection, ‘The Fox Family’ going up for Auction in the Annual Busking For Change fundraising event in Sydney this Thursday. ‘The Fox Fam’ is beautifully rendered in watercolour and features a vixen and her two  pups at play. It has been produced on Archers Smooth 300gsm and measures approximately 420mm x 297mm and elegantly finished in a black matt frame. Busking For Change was founded five years ago by singer/songwriter, Josh Pyke, to raise desperately needed funds for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation who work tirelessly in addressing the Indigenous literacy crisis in remote communities around Australia. Red Riding

Red Riding

It seems like forever ago I was busy in the studio with this piece, and since my duties as a designer can to flick from fun and messy artworks to more important client matter I sometimes forget to reflect of the fun stuff. The signature crows add an eerie sound to this piece and builds on that feeling of fear and...

Native Cat

In order to capture an aesthetically pleasing composition and pose, whilst keeping a subject perfectly still for long exposures, it was a general practice for the photographer to work along side a taxidermists, many of whom were women. Ironically this produced the earliest, most life-like photographs of our Australia wildlife. The original postcard was shot by Charles Kerry for Kerry and Co, for the Tyrell Collection.
